MyCarParts App Guidelines

1. General Platform Rules

Allowed:

  • Sale of genuine auto parts (new or used)
  • Auction listings for parts and vehicles
  • Car stripping projects (for verified sellers)
  • Properly described listings with real images
  • Communication via in-app messaging and offer system

Prohibited:

  • Sale of stolen, fake, or counterfeit parts
  • Listing complete vehicles as "spares" to dodge regulations
  • External contact sharing (WhatsApp, emails, phone numbers)
  • Offensive content or hate speech
  • Spam listings or misleading info

Security:

  • All transactions must be done through the app
  • Avoid external deals โ€” this is against our policy
  • Verified seller and buyer IDs are required for large orders or disputes
2. Listings Policy

๐Ÿงพ Normal Listings:

  • Must include: Part name, condition (new/used), clear photos, accurate description, and price.
  • No blurry or watermarked images.
  • Multiple quantities? Add variations or separate listings.
  • Duplicate listings are not allowed.

๐Ÿ”ง Stripping Projects:

  • Must show full car being stripped.
  • Basic info like make, model, year, engine, gearbox type is required.
  • Buyers contact the seller through the system to ask for parts.
  • Sellers reply with Part Offers, which buyers can accept, reject, or counter.
  • Admin approves Part Offers before they go live.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Auctions:

  • Set a clear starting price, duration, and reserve price if needed.
  • No fake bidding allowed.
  • Sellers must honor the sale once the auction ends.
3. Messaging & Offers
  • Use messaging only for asking product-related questions.
  • To purchase something from a stripping project, use the "Send Part Offer" system.
  • All accepted offers are sent to checkout automatically.
  • Counter-offers expire after 72 hours to keep the system clean.
4. Payment & Checkout
  • All payments go through our secure gateway (e.g., Payfast, Peach Payments).
  • Buyers pay at checkout, including delivery if added.
  • Funds are held safely until order is marked delivered and confirmed.
  • Admin releases funds to the seller 7 days after successful delivery (unless disputed).
5. Shipping & Tracking

For Sellers:

  • Must ship within 2 working days of receiving payment.
  • Must upload tracking info (courier name, tracking number, and optional photo of parcel).
  • We encourage uploading a photo of the package showing buyer's name and address as proof.

For Buyers:

  • You will receive tracking info under "My Orders."
  • Please confirm receipt within 7 days of delivery.
  • If no confirmation after 7 days and no dispute is raised, funds are auto-released to the seller.
6. Returns & Disputes

When to Open a Dispute:

  • Wrong part delivered
  • Damaged item
  • Part not working as described
  • Part never arrived

Dispute Process:

  • Buyer opens a dispute within 7 days of delivery.
  • Buyer submits photos and description of issue.
  • Seller is notified and must respond within 48 hours.
  • Admin reviews both sides and resolves the dispute.
  • If seller is at fault, a refund is processed or part must be returned.
  • If buyer is at fault (e.g., ordered wrong part), return may be allowed at buyer's cost.
7. Seller Withdrawals
  • Payouts are only available once a week (e.g., every Friday).
  • Minimum withdrawal threshold: R100
  • Must have verified banking info (Name, ID, Bank, Account, Branch)

Withdrawal methods:

  • EFT (Bank transfer)
  • Mobile Wallet (optional, future)

Admin may delay payouts during active disputes.

8. Trust & Safety
  • Repeated complaints or reports may result in suspension.
  • Sellers with poor delivery times, fake listings, or external contact pushing will be removed.
  • All users must keep a professional tone when communicating.
9. Marketplace Growth & Reviews
  • Buyers can leave reviews after each purchase.
  • Reviews affect your seller/buyer profile.
  • You can report fake reviews to the admin.
  • Verified high-rating sellers get priority exposure.
10. Admin Rights
  • Admin can suspend, hide, or remove any listing or account violating the rules.
  • Admin can approve/reject part offers in stripping projects.
  • Admin can update the order status based on tracking and confirmation.
Helpful Tips

Sellers: Keep your listings updated, deliver fast, upload tracking.

Buyers: Ask questions if unsure, confirm delivery truthfully, report fake parts.

Both: Never take transactions outside the platform. If caught, accounts may be banned.
